Attending a tasting with your fiance is one of the funnest parts of wedding planning. Typically your caterer or venue offers a complimentary tasting for the bride and groom and a couple of extra guests as well. It’s a time to ditch the wedding diet and celebrate the tradition of breaking bread. Through all of the fun, here are a few of my tips to keep in mind:
1. Speak Up!
If you like a dish but would prefer a different kind of cheese or a meat be prepared at a different temperature, say something! Chefs have thick skin and are there to make you happy. Don’t be afraid to speak your mind because you don’t want to hurt feelings. The whole point of the tasting is giving your honest feed back.
2. Order Off Menu
Yes, you can be that bride who tastes everything and ends up selecting a dish that has yet to be created. Let the chef know your favorites ahead of time and ask what they can do. Your wedding is a reflection of your unique style and that includes the food!
3. Customize It
Food is fun! Get creative and think of ways to incorporate your personalities into your dishes. Ask your chef to change a sauce color to complement your color scheme. Choose a favorite fruit to be included in your water station. Add in cultural flavors to represent your heritage. Don’t be afraid of having a vegetarian dish instead of the typical chicken option. If you love it, your guests will love it!
xoxo,
Victoria
